Creative Halloween Costumes: HVAC-Inspired Get-Ups

Creative Halloween Costumes: HVAC-Inspired Get-UpsPerhaps we’re a little biased, but we love the idea of people dressing up as plumbers, electricians, or even appliances for Halloween. But you may not even realize how many different HVAC-inspired Halloween costumes are possible. Here are a few of our favorite ideas:

Service Technicians

Out of all the HVAC service men and women that come to mind, plumbers probably get the most love at costume shops. Electricians are popular, too. If you want to make a funny version, take a plumber outfit and cover it with brown paint as a result of a toilet or sewer accident. Or you can create an electrician that has had a bit of a shock by investing in lots of hairspray.

There are a ton of appliances and devices connected to HVAC for you to choose from. You can dress up as a refrigerator, air conditioner, freezer, toilet, sink, chimney, etc. While these might not sound exciting, you can easily add your own take to these designs. For example, you could go as a chimney with Santa stuck at the top, wear a freezer on your chest and crown on your head to be your own ice queen, or put a sink on your chest adorned with the letter N and go as a boy band. Get it? N Sync.

Dryer Vent Ideas

Believe it or not, but dryer vents are incredibly versatile when it comes to designing Halloween costumes. They can be used to create appendages for all sorts of things, including robots, the Tin Man from The Wizard of Oz, and the Spider-Man villain known as Dr. Octopus. Plus, you can use them in a kid’s costume to make them into a caterpillar, a worm, Slinky from the Toy Story movies, and similar creations.
