Save Money by Taking Advantage of HVAC Rebates

Save Money by Taking Advantage of HVAC RebatesAround Martin and Palm Beach County, dealing with the summer heat affordably takes cooling equipment that’s above average in efficiency. Thanks to generous HVAC rebates, you can invest in higher-efficiency equipment without breaking your budget.

More Efficiency for Less Money

HVAC rebates let your get back a certain amount from the purchase price of new heating and cooling equipment, related accessories, and weatherization services. Utility providers, equipment manufacturers, and government agencies offer these financial incentives to encourage homeowners to make energy-efficient choices.

The eligibility terms of most rebates state that equipment must meet certain efficiency standards. If you’re factoring a rebate into your budget, check the terms before your buy to be sure your choice of equipment is eligible.

Local Rebate Options

Florida Public Utilities provides its customers with rebates on air conditioners and heat pumps that reach an energy efficiency level of SEER 15 or higher. Investing in a system this efficient and you can claim a $100 rebate.

Florida Power and Light (FPL) offers even more options for saving on your home energy efficiency upgrades. Air conditioners and heat pumps are both eligible for rebates. Check with FPL to learn more about the eligibility terms.

Beyond this, FPL offers a free Residential Home Energy Survey to help you spot areas where improvements could reduce your energy bills and keep your home more comfortable. Possible improvements include air sealing and adding insulation. A rebate is available for the cost of adding more ceiling or roof insulation.

Customers are also eligible for discounts on HVAC air duct tests and can claim a rebate of up to $154 on the cost of duct system repairs. A more energy-efficient home lets you buy a smaller, less expensive air conditioner or heat pump, so it’s worth investing in these improvements before you upgrade your heating or cooling system.
